Lyrics...

A lot of the readers here are big fans of music. The question I have then is how many of us really pay attention to the lyrics of our favorite songs? To be honest, a lot of times I dont. I know the lyrics and I sing along with them, but I don't pay too much attention to them. I'm more of a person who gets drawn in by the music and the beat. Occasionally though a song really gets me in both beat and lyrics. The follwoing song's lyrics can have a bunch of meanings. A longing for a past place in life; whether it be a town, a college life, a girl, friends that you miss....it just holds a lot in my opinion. So without further introduction, I present to you "Somewhere Only We Know" by Keane...my apologies to copyright people. I'm sure Keane doesn't mind the free press ;)

I walked across an empty land
I knew the pathway like the back of my hand
I felt the earth beneath my feet
Sat by the river and it made me complete

Oh Simple thing, where have you gone
I'm getting old and I need something to rely on
So tell me when, you're gonna let me in
I'm getting tired and I need somewhere to begin

I came across a fallen tree
I felt the branches of it looking at me
Is this the place we used to love?
Is this the place that I've been dreaming of?

Oh Simple thing, where have you gone
I'm getting old and I need something to rely on
So tell me when, you're gonna let me in
I'm getting tired and I need somewhere to begin

And if you have a minute why don't we go
Talk about it Somewhere Only We Know
This could be the end of everything
So why don't we go
Somewhere only we know

This could be the end of everything
So why don't we go
Somewhere only we know

I'll be back soon with more about some interesting things at Lineville-Clio and the Townsley wedding. Later.

GO HAWKS!!!
